I am downloading and I will listen. It came at the right time.
I will thank you by giving a link:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWByXDB0IKw
This is an old traditional "Sing-before-eating-the-Smörgåsbord" song passed down by generations of Swedes.
that was sort of the swedish joan jet. i really need to get a one piece animal print jumpsuit.
i agree. the gloriousity of the cover sort of made me feel slightly bad about the music. until i realized modesty is so 2006. jsmmfgoalrwhc! (james slater makes mad field goals or at least rebounds when he can.)
it should work now. at least i'm close to 30% sure at least 80% of this should work.
good to see you're still around.
do you ever come to philadelphia?
i've been there but only briefly, though my heart rarely leaves new jersey. as far as i remember it's a cool place.
kewl downloaded and will listen to it later today :)
thanks. i hope you like it.
I'll download it when I get home later.
if i had money and/or the whatever the feeling of the opposite of unstoppable laziness is, i'd make cds.
beautiful cover art, thats awesome you posted the whole album
thanks. i like the art you've been posting recently as well.
So obviously this album is called 'Hitching a whale family by the lighthouse tree while various fauna call my name in succession'?
Good you job you and Aleks; this is a concept album of sorts like Rick Wakeman's Journey to the Centre of the Earth
I'm still listening to the album, An Army of Panthers
and The Whole Fucking Universe
are my favourite songs I think.
thanks. as brilliant an artist as aleks is i'm certain she'll never create something like this
A novel is unfolding in my head as I'm listening to this. I'll name it "The Tree, the Lighthouse, and the Flying Whales", or maybe "Pete's Animal Kingdom".
feel free to call it baby punch: with pete. which is what i intended to call my show on the learning channel.

that's the way to do it
aucking fwesome. long live lappop and jersey.
i'll file another report with a proper album
review after i've consumed more espresso.
(a teaser for readers--it's 5 stars, a sleeper
(not sleepy) masterpiece from godownmatthew).
take care of the illness--lots of hot water,
green tea or otherwise, vitamins, stretching,
breathing, and bad/good television/internet.
thanks. something like 600 red bulls went into the making of this cd so i'm hoping espresso somehow increases your enjoyment of it.
i've watched more tv in the past 3 days of illness than i have in the past two years. it's sort of removing my ability to think straight.
I really dig Hovel, but you knew that. Additionally, thus far, I am a big fan of The Whole Fucking Universe. I enjoy superfluous profanity. I also like the beats, fat synth in the chorus and more...
Nice work. A+!
thanks dude. you can't go wrong with swearing and drum programming in my opinion.
this made me feel so much better about life.
bjork should come out with an album called army of emoticons.
Why I haven't added you before is beyond me, but here goes. It's an honor.
thanks. i've seen you around, i don't know why i haven't added you previously either.
looks lovely. will download but computer is broken and am having to use ds to access anything. this is pain! looking forward to full album experience...
i can't imagine life without internet. that's probably why i can't remember my childhood. well, one of many reasons. good luck. let me know what you think.
while it may be unwanted..
we should probably find some time to talk..
soon too. i've been computerless and having issues,
so i've been somewhat lost as of late. lost makes the most
sense... missing, would work...but lost seems like a better suggestion.
anyhow..talking. yes. we really should do it sometime soon.
you're scaring me slightly. not in a serial killer or voodoo zombie sort of way, but in a werewolf coming over offering me chinese food sort of way.

godownmatthew throws down the first lappop gauntlet of the year
Just a mere few days into the new year when most people have already disregarded or, at best, forgotten their resolutions and have switched their lifestyle button back to auto-pilot yet again, godownmatthew has returned to reaffirm our faith in the fundamentals of progressive audio anarchism--hear ye, hear ye, the do-it-yourself ethos is alive and well and one of its preeminent proponents is, sit down for this, doing it all from an auspicious suburban enclave in new jersey. if the days of new jersey getting a bad rap weren't over, they officially are now. godownmatthew, the bawdy rimbaud of digi-rock, is back with an ironic electronic masterpiece--yes, masterpiece--and an early musical gauntlet has been dropped in 2007.
godownmatthew's new self titled full-length release has already been compared to the white album, and in fact has more in common with that double disc than you'd think: both have an eclectic and ambitious scope, a "fuck it, we're including everything" impulse that ultimately proves to have been the right one, for it's the listener who reaps endless sonic and psychic rewards from repeated listens to this bizarre (in the most desirable sense) and beautiful (in the most sincere sense) d-i-y masterpiece. yes, masterpiece.
to put it more simply: if you're not enlightened and inspired by gowdownmatthew's music to see the world in a more creative way you probably deserve to be on auto-pilot this year. but you won't find this writer at the water cooler, i'll be out hiking in the sunshine, communing with the animals and trees, with godownmatthew in the headphones. give this music to your family, friends, hell, hand it out to strangers and heed the call from godownmatthew this year: please don't take the motherfucking magic out of everything.
peace, love and granola.

Re: godownmatthew throws down the first lappop gauntlet of the year
i've been told recently that i take compliments badly, but i'll say two things; this really brightened a sort of stressful week and i'm tempted to print it out and mail it to my parents.
wait two more,
you're awesome and thanks.
